NEWARK, DE — Two Newark men were arrested following the execution of a search warrant by the Newark Police Department, which also led to the discovery of drugs and a stolen firearm.
On February 18, 2025, officers executed a search warrant at the Hunter’s Crossing Apartments in Newark, Delaware, seeking to apprehend 28-year-old Stephan Lloyd and 26-year-old Dahmir Lewis. Both individuals were found inside the residence and taken into custody without incident.
During the search, police uncovered a loaded handgun, later identified as stolen from New Castle County in 2016, along with a loaded magazine, quantities of crack cocaine and heroin.
Lloyd, who was wanted on multiple charges including theft—organized retail crime over $1,500, shoplifting over $1,500, and conspiracy in the second degree—was also facing additional warrants and a Rule 9 capias from another agency. He has now been charged with new offenses, including possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, receiving a stolen firearm, resisting arrest, and drug possession charges. He is being held at Howard R. Young Correctional Facility in default of $13,000 secured bail.
Lewis, who had two probation violations, nine active court capiases, and additional warrants, is facing the same new charges as Lloyd. He remains in custody at the Howard R. Young Correctional Facility on $12,000 secured bail and $11,500 cash bail.
Authorities have reminded the public that the charges are allegations. Both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
