Drugs, Cash, and Arrest! Wilmington Man Caught in Major Bust

WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man is facing several drug-related charges following an investigation by local authorities.

On January 2, at approximately 12:39 p.m., officers from the Wilmington Police Department’s Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were conducting operations in the 700 block of North Tatnall Street. During their efforts, officers observed suspected drug-related activity involving a male individual.

The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Johnnie Cooper, was taken into custody without incident. Police reported recovering .24 grams of heroin, 2.64 grams of crack cocaine, 4.7 grams of marijuana, and $426 in cash during the arrest.

Cooper has been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, as well as tampering with physical evidence. After arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 11, Cooper was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution under $5,000 unsecured bail.

Authorities emphasize that all charges are allegations, and Mr. Cooper is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. No further information about the case has been released at this time.
