Driver Sought in Shocking Hit-and-Run That Left Woman Critically Injured

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities in Philadelphia are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect and vehicle involved in an alleged hit-and-run incident that left a woman seriously injured.

The collision occurred on October 8, 2024, at approximately 8:44 a.m., near the intersection of Bustleton Avenue and Stanwood Street. According to police, the victim, a 47-year-old woman, was struck in a crosswalk by a vehicle described as a dark gray 2010-2012 Honda Civic with a missing right front hubcap and a rust spot on the rear trunk lid. The car was reportedly displaying a temporary Pennsylvania paper tag numbered 4691-731.

Investigators state that the driver, described as a man between the ages of 20 and 30, wearing eyeglasses, a red hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and red, white, and black sneakers, pulled the victim out of harm’s way but left the scene before first responders arrived. The victim sustained a traumatic brain injury as a result of the incident.

The Philadelphia Police Department‘s Crash Investigation Division is leading the search and urges members of the public to come forward with relevant information.
