PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities in Philadelphia are calling on the public to help identify two individuals allegedly involved in an assault at the SEPTA Broad Street Line platform earlier this year.

The incident occurred on January 23, 2025, around 2 p.m., at the 1400 DFK Boulevard SEPTA BSL station. According to police, one of the suspects approached the complainant, demanding they hand over their coat. When the victim refused, the suspect allegedly threatened them, pretending to have a weapon. The exchange then escalated, with the suspect reportedly assaulting the complainant and throwing them to the ground. The victim managed to escape unharmed, and both suspects fled the scene without taking any property.

The Philadelphia Police Department has released descriptions of the alleged suspects in hopes of identifying them. The first individual is described as a Black male teenager wearing a black “Guess” coat and blue pants. The second is also described as a Black male teenager dressed in all dark clothing.

Detectives from the Central Division are leading the investigation, with Detective Murray assigned to the case. They are urging anyone who recognizes the individuals or has information about the incident to come forward.

“Do not approach the suspects if you see them,” officials warned, advising the public to immediately contact 911 instead. Tips can also be submitted confidentially by phone at 215-686-TIPS (8477).

The police note that all suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
