PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects allegedly involved in a robbery and assault during the early hours of March 27, 2025. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Central Detective Division has released details of the incident, which occurred around 2:15 a.m. on the 100 block of Church Street.
According to reports, the victim, a 33-year-old man, was walking west on the street when two unidentified men approached him from behind and asked for money. After he declined, the suspects allegedly became demanding. The victim eventually handed over approximately $400, but a physical altercation followed, leaving him with a laceration on his left thumb.
The suspects fled the scene on foot and were last seen heading west on Church Street. Law enforcement officials have described the suspects as follows:
- Suspect #1 is a Black male wearing a gray knit hat, black jacket, and blue jeans.
- Suspect #2 is a Black male wearing a dark knit hat, red jacket, and dark sweatpants.
Police urge anyone who may recognize these individuals or have information related to the incident to contact the Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093 or 215-686-3094. Tips can also be submitted confidentially by dialing 215.686.TIPS (8477). Officials remind the public not to approach the suspects but to contact 911 immediately if they are spotted.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
