Disguised Thief: Philadelphia’s USPS Impersonator Strikes Again

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities from the Philadelphia Police Department‘s Central Detective Division are actively seeking assistance from the public in identifying a suspect believed to be involved in a series of package thefts. The suspect, whose actions were captured in a recently released video clip, allegedly gained unauthorized access to an apartment building located in the 1400 block of North 15th Street on October 23, 2024.

Once inside, the suspect reportedly appropriated several packages belonging to the building’s residents. Notably, the individual was dressed in apparel resembling that of a United States Postal Service worker, which he allegedly used as a disguise to commit multiple thefts on separate occasions.

The suspect is described as a Black male, seen wearing a blue knit hat with a USPS patch, a blue hooded sweatshirt with the USPS logo, blue pants, and black sneakers. Authorities caution the public not to approach the suspect and to contact 911 immediately if he is spotted.

The police urge anyone with information regarding this individual or the thefts to submit tips via telephone by calling 215.686.TIPS (8477) or sending a text to the same number. All tips will remain confidential.
