CLAYMONT, DE — The New Castle County Division of Police is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a suspect linked to an alleged attempted burglary in the Ashbourne Hills neighborhood.

Authorities report that on the evening of Wednesday, November 27, 2024, shortly after 8 p.m., patrol officers responded to a residence on the 200 block of South Avon Drive following a report of a possible burglary. According to the homeowner, surveillance footage captured an unidentified individual removing a shovel from their shed and attempting to gain entry into the home. The suspect fled the property upon noticing the security cameras (click here).

Law enforcement officials are seeking additional information and any potential surveillance footage that may assist in identifying the suspect. Residents are encouraged to provide relevant details to aid the investigation.
