PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities in Philadelphia are investigating a commercial burglary that took place early Tuesday morning at a local bar in the city’s Olney section. Law enforcement officials are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the individual allegedly responsible for the theft.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department‘s Northwest Detective Division, the incident occurred on March 25, 2025, at approximately 5:40 a.m. The complainant, the owner of Chihuahua Bar located at 5050 N. 5th Street, reported that an unknown male broke into the establishment and stole over $1,000 from the bar’s cash registers.
Surveillance footage captured the suspect inside the bar during the incident. The footage shows the individual removing cash from the registers before fleeing the scene. Additional video evidence reveals the suspect leaving the vicinity, with his last known location being near 4th Street and Roosevelt Boulevard.
The suspect is described as a Black or Hispanic male with a light complexion. At the time of the burglary, he was wearing a black and white striped hoodie paired with a black jacket and pants. He also had on a black baseball cap with reading glasses resting on the brim.
The police have urged members of the public not to approach the suspect if he is spotted. Instead, residents are encouraged to dial 911 immediately.
