Coatesville City Police Investigate Fatal Shooting on Rosemont Avenue

COATESVILLE, PA — Coatesville Police announced they have initiated an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred Friday evening.

According to Coatesville Detectives, on October 20, 2023, a fatal shooting took place at 141 Rosemont Avenue, Coatesville City, Chester County, Pennsylvania. The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Lawrence Hurd.

At approximately 11:40 p.m., Coatesville City Police responded to reports of the incident. Upon arrival, officers found Hurd on the porch of 139 Rosemont Ave with multiple gunshot wounds. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The Coatesville City Police Department, in cooperation with Chester County Detectives, is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident. At this time, no suspects have been named and police are urging anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward.

In a public appeal for assistance, the Coatesville City Police Department has asked anyone with relevant information to call them at 610-384-2300 or the Chester County Detectives at 610-344-6866. The reference number for the case is 16-23-19838.
