Coatesville Arrest: Trio Apprehended in Motor Vehicle Theft Spree

COATESVILLE, PA — The City of Coatesville Police Department announced the arrest of Anthony Rosa-Bowden and two juveniles in connection to a motor vehicle theft.

The criminal complaint alleges that on July 27th, 2023 Coatesville Police received two reports in reference to two KIA sedans that were damaged while the actor(s) attempted to steal them. One attempt was in the 1100 block of East Lincoln Highway and the other was in the 700 block of East Lincoln Highway, to the rear. A third report was received at 11:04 AM about a successfully stolen KIA sedan from the unit block of Chester Avenue.

At approximately 1:10 PM Coatesville Police observed the stolen KIA in the 100 block of Lumber Street and attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the 200 block of Lumber Street. The three occupants all turned to look at the police vehicle while stopped at North Third Avenue. The stolen KIA fled from police into the east end of Coatesville, before going into Caln Township by the VA Hospital, and then onto the bypass where the vehicle pursuit ended.

All three occupants fled from the vehicle on foot. The driver, identified as Anthony Rosa-Bowden, was quickly apprehended and was found to have the tools used to break into and steal the vehicle. The two passengers fled through the woods and into a residential area before also being taken into custody. All three were charged with vehicle theft and related offenses.

The investigation into the other two attempted vehicle thefts is ongoing.
