WEST CHESTER, PA — A Chester County jury has convicted Mamadou Kallie of three counts of First-Degree Murder in connection with the deaths of his girlfriend, Tiara Rodriguez-Diaz, and Kimberly Ortiz-Zayas, who was pregnant with Kallie’s unborn child. The crimes occurred on May 29, 2022, with evidence showing Rodriguez-Diaz was killed in front of her one-year-old son.

The verdict, delivered last week after a six-day trial, ensures that Kallie faces a mandatory life sentence. His formal sentencing date has yet to be announced.

“This is an act of violence that is difficult to fathom,” said District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe. “Thanks to the collaboration of law enforcement, the meticulous work of the prosecution team, and the diligence of the jury, this Defendant will spend the rest of his life in prison.”

The investigation, led by Chester County Detectives with support from the Valley Township Police Department, West Chester Police Department, Coatesville City Police Department, and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, was critical in bringing the case to prosecution.

First Assistant District Attorney Erin O’Brien and Assistant District Attorney Annie Yoskoski presented the case, ensuring justice for the victims and their families. Valley Township Police Chief Glenn Eckman emphasized the impact of the tragedy, offering his condolences to the victims’ loved ones.
