OXFORD, PA — An inmate at Chester County Prison is facing multiple charges after allegedly attempting to contact his victim. The Oxford Police Department disclosed that Darrell Thomas, a 40-year-old resident of Cochranville, has been accused of sending multiple letters and attempting to place several phone calls to the victim, actions that have led to new legal repercussions.
The communication efforts by Thomas, which took place in early March 2024, reportedly violated a current protection from abuse order, in addition to constituting witness intimidation. These allegations have prompted a thorough investigation by the Oxford Police, initiated at the behest of the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.
As a result of the investigation, Thomas now faces a series of charges including intimidating a witness/victim, stalking, and harassment, among other related offenses. Despite already being housed at Chester County Prison for other charges, the legal system has moved swiftly to address these new allegations. On March 13, 2024, Thomas was arraigned on these charges, with the court setting a $10,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 2, 2024, at the Oxford District Court, where further details of the case will be examined.
Nevertheless, It’s important to remember that an arrest or a criminal complaint is not an indication of guilt. Thomas, like all individuals accused of a crime, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
