PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department‘s Special Victims Unit is actively pursuing leads in an alleged child sexual assault case that occurred in the early hours of November 2, 2024, on the 800 block of Chestnut Street. Authorities have released a video compilation in hopes of identifying the male suspect linked to the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s to mid-30s, with a medium height and build, dark complexion, and a beard. Notably, he was seen wearing bandages above his right eye and dressed in a stained light gray shirt and light gray sweatpants. At the time of the incident, the suspect was shoeless, wearing only black socks. He may now be wearing a navy-blue Nike hooded sweatshirt with white drawstrings, black sneakers, and a black backpack, while still possibly sporting light gray sweatpants.

The suspect is believed to frequent the Center City area and utilize the Broad Street and Market-Frankford Lines for transportation. Surveillance captured him at the Broad and Olney Transportation Center just hours before the alleged assault.

Authorities urge the public not to approach the suspect if seen, but instead to contact 911 immediately.
