KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Authorities are investigating an incident involving an alleged attempt to use counterfeit currency at a hardware store in Chester County.
According to the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department, the incident occurred on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at approximately 1:40 p.m. A male suspect reportedly tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at the Ace Hardware located at 350 Scarlett Road in New Garden Township.
The suspect is described as a Black male, standing approximately 6’3” tall with a heavy build. Officials are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are encouraging members of the public to report any relevant details by contacting the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department by submitting a tip online or calling 911.
Authorities remind the community that all allegations are under investigation, and any suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
