Camden Man Arrested in Wilmington on Gun Charge

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a 22-year-old Camden man on allegations of carrying a concealed firearm following a traffic stop earlier this month.

The incident occurred on April 2 at approximately 11:42 p.m., when officers from the Uniformed Services Division observed a traffic violation near East 26th and Thatcher Streets. Police initiated a vehicle stop and made contact with a passenger identified as Nha’sir Lewis of Camden, DE.

During the investigation, authorities allege that Lewis was found in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun. He was taken into custody without incident and later charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

Lewis was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

As with all cases, Lewis is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
