Betrayal of Trust: Hunt for Caretaker Accused of Exploiting Elderly Victim

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department has announced an arrest warrant for Tashina Thompson, 29, of Philadelphia, PA. The warrant is part of a broader investigation into the alleged financial exploitation of an elderly individual residing in the Goshen Valley Development of East Goshen Township.

Thompson, who was employed as a home health caretaker for the victim from January to June 2024, is accused of various financial crimes during this period. At present, her whereabouts are unknown, and she is no longer affiliated with the victim.

The police department has emphasized its dedication to safeguarding the vulnerable, stating, “The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department is committed to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community, including the elderly. We take allegations of financial exploitation very seriously and will work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.”

Thompson faces a litany of charges including one count of financial exploitation of an older adult or care-dependent person, five counts of forgery, twenty-five counts of identity theft, and multiple other charges related to theft and fraud. The allegations also encompass tampering with records and criminal use of communication facilities.

It is crucial to note that these charges are allegations, and Thompson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
