PHILADELPHIA, PA — United States Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero announced that Robert Davis, 36, from Bensalem, Pennsylvania, has pleaded guilty Wednesday to three counts of trafficking counterfeit goods. The plea was entered before United States District Court Judge John Frank Murphy.
Davis was indicted in May 2023 for selling counterfeit opioid pills through his website, rcproppill. From 2015 to 2019, he marketed these fake pills as film or music video props. Despite containing no controlled substances, the pills bore trademarks resembling those of widely abused opioids, such as oxycodone, hydrocodone, and Xanax. Buyers frequently returned, suggesting the pills were used for drug dealing, not entertainment.
Davis’s sentencing is set for December 20. He faces a potential maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and three years of supervised release for each count.
The investigation involved the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Food and Drug Administration, and the FBI. Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Diviny is leading the prosecution. This case highlights the ongoing efforts of federal agencies to tackle counterfeit drug trafficking.
