BEAR, DEDelaware State Police have announced the arrest of 30-year-old Joshua Bostic of Newark in connection with a strong-arm robbery that occurred late last year at a Wawa convenience store in Bear.

The incident took place on December 2, 2024, at approximately 5:41 p.m. Authorities allege that Bostic approached a customer at an ATM inside the Wawa located at 1605 Pulaski Highway. According to police, after the customer completed the transaction, Bostic attempted to forcibly take the money, resulting in a physical confrontation.

The customer managed to retain their cash and began exiting the store, but the suspect allegedly followed them, leading to a second altercation outside near the store’s entrance. During this struggle, Bostic reportedly succeeded in taking an undisclosed amount of the victim’s money before fleeing on foot in the direction of Salem Church Road. The victim was unharmed during the encounter.

Following an investigation, detectives identified Bostic as the suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest. Law enforcement apprehended him in Cecil County, Maryland, earlier this month. On April 4, 2025, Bostic was extradited to Delaware to face charges.

Upon his return, Bostic was transported to Troop 2, where he was charged with robbery in the second degree, a felony, as well as offensive touching. Following arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 2, he was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $2,600 secured bond.

Officials remind the public that all individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
