WILMINGTON, DE — Police have arrested a 23-year-old Wilmington man in connection with an alleged aggravated menacing incident that took place earlier this month. The Wilmington Police Department stated that the suspect, identified as Nykii Brown, faces multiple charges stemming from the incident and subsequent investigation.
On November 14, at approximately 12:44 a.m., officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to a report on the 3000 block of North Market Street. Upon arrival, they interviewed the victim, who alleged that a male suspect had threatened them with a firearm. Following the initial investigation, officers identified Brown as the suspect and secured warrants for his arrest.
Nearly a week later, on November 20 at around 1:53 p.m., members of the Gun Intelligence Unit apprehended Brown in the 3000 block of North Jefferson Street. Authorities noted that Brown was taken into custody without incident and was allegedly in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun at the time.
Brown has been formally charged with the following offenses:
- Aggravated Menacing
- Terroristic Threatening
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon – Two Counts
Following his arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 11, Brown was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution under $27,000 secured bail.
It is important to emphasize that these charges remain allegations. All individuals, including Brown, are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
