WILMINGTON, DE — A Philadelphia man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop in Wilmington where a loaded firearm was recovered, authorities said.
Wilmington Police reported that, on the evening of March 3 at approximately 10:14 p.m., officers conducted a vehicle stop on the 800 block of Morrow Street. The driver, identified as 26-year-old Nahum Trader, was stopped after allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign and driving the wrong way on a one-way street, police stated.
During the stop, officers determined Trader was in possession of a loaded firearm. He reportedly resisted arrest but was subdued and taken into custody without further incident.
Trader has been charged with several offenses, including Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, and Resisting Arrest. Authorities confirmed that additional charges related to traffic violations have also been filed.
He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 20 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution with bail set at $26,200 cash-only.
The charges against Trader remain allegations at this stage, as all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
