WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have apprehended an individual alleged to be involved in drug-related activities. On October 29, at approximately 1:03 p.m., officers from the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were on patrol in the 800 block of Kirkwood Street when they observed suspicious behavior that led them to engage with Shawn Mcdougle.
Mcdougle, 28, was already wanted on an outstanding capias for an unrelated charge. Upon contacting him, authorities discovered he was in possession of 15.35 grams of crack cocaine and 1.11 grams of heroin.
The charges against Mcdougle include multiple counts: possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver in tier 2 quantity, possession with intent to deliver, and possession in both tier 1 and tier 2 quantities. Following his arrest, he was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11, where he received a secured bail of $19,000 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
It is crucial to note that the charges remain allegations; Mcdougle, like all defendants, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. As the investigation continues, further developments may emerge.
