WILMINGTON, DE — An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged assault involving three victims, according to the Wilmington Police Department. The incident took place in the early morning hours of March 25, 2025, in the 100 block of South Poplar Street.
Authorities report that officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to the scene at approximately 12:53 a.m. after receiving a call about an assault. Upon arrival, police spoke with three individuals who claimed they had been physically assaulted by two unknown males. The victims also provided descriptions of the suspects involved.
Shortly after the initial report, officers patrolling the area observed a male subject who matched one of the provided descriptions near South Walnut and East Front Streets. Police identified the individual as 18-year-old Amir Johnson. He was taken into custody without incident.
Johnson has since been charged with second-degree assault and offensive touching. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11, where he was released after posting $3,000 cash-only bail.
The case remains under investigation and has been assigned to Detective Jessica Gledhill of the Criminal Investigation Division. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information about this case to contact Detective Gledhill at (302) 576-3667.
