13-Year-Old Arrested for Alleged Armed Robbery in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE — A 13-year-old male juvenile has been taken into custody following an investigation into an alleged armed robbery in Wilmington earlier this month.

Wilmington Police reported that the incident occurred on February 7, 2025, at approximately 6:40 p.m., in the 2400 block of North Tatnall Street. The case was assigned to Detective Kevin Murphy of the Criminal Investigations Division, who identified the 13-year-old as the suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.

On February 21, members of the Gun Intelligence Unit conducted a vehicle stop near Maryland Avenue and South Broom Street, successfully taking the juvenile into custody without incident.

The juvenile has been charged with first-degree robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was subsequently arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center under a $20,000 cash-only bail.

Authorities have reminded the public that these charges are allegations, and all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
