COATESVILLE, PA — On March 2nd, 2024, residents of Coatesville will witness an exciting new addition to the city’s spiritual landscape. CityWell Church has announced the launch of their Saturday Night Worship Gatherings at 6:30 pm at 50th S 8th Ave in Coatesville. This marks a significant milestone in the church’s journey, which began with the planting process in March 2020.
CityWell Church, a daughter entity of Moving Communities to Christ (MCC), formerly known as Morgantown Community Church, had to adapt its operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The church transformed into a network of micro-churches scattered across various locations. Despite these challenges, the church remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a vibrant and welcoming spiritual community in Coatesville.
The new worship gatherings are made possible through the generous support of Trinity United Bible Church, who has agreed to share their building with CityWell. This partnership enables CityWell to hold their services in a larger, more suitable setting.
Even before the initiation of these worship gatherings, CityWell has been actively serving the Coatesville community. They lead Axios, a multi-church youth ministry, in partnership with Coatesville Bible Fellowship. Axios, translating to ‘Worthy’ in Greek, hosts gatherings twice a month, providing a safe space for middle and high school students to explore their faith, enjoy meals, build friendships, and engage in fun activities.
In addition to its youth ministry, CityWell shows its commitment to community welfare through regular food distributions. These take place on the 3rd Saturday of every month at 11 am by the tennis courts at the corner of 11th Street and Lincoln Highway. While CityWell leads this effort monthly, weekly food distributions are often organized by the Moses Family.
Founding Pastor DJ Grick and his wife Stef Grick have been instrumental in shaping the vision and values of CityWell Church. The church’s mission is rooted in a deep love for Christ and a passion for serving others. With the launch of Saturday Night Worship Gatherings, Pastor DJ hopes to cater to essential workers, such as medical professionals, providing them with a dedicated worship time outside of Sunday mornings.
CityWell Church invites everyone to join them on March 2nd, 2024, at 6:30 pm as they kick off their inaugural Saturday Night service. This event will not only mark a new chapter in the church’s history but also provide residents with a fresh opportunity for worship and fellowship.
With its strong commitment to community service and spiritual growth, CityWell Church continues to be a beacon of hope and positivity in the heart of Coatesville. As this exciting new chapter unfolds, it is clear that the church will continue to make a significant impact on the community for years to come.
