2025 Sustainability Summit and Expo

WEST CHESTER, PA — On Saturday, May 17, the Chester County Planning Commission will hold the 2025 Sustainability Summit and Expo at West Chester University. This highly anticipated event aims to engage residents, businesses, and community leaders in discussions and activities centered on sustainability and environmental action.

Beginning at 10:00 a.m., the program will feature a variety of activities, including two core presentations. “Sustainable Energy” will run from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by “Sustainable Landscaping” from 11:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Those unable to attend in the morning will have another opportunity to participate, as the presentations will be repeated between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Attendees can explore an expo showcasing over 40 vendors and community organizations, offering resources and information on incorporating sustainability into daily life. Weather permitting, the event will also feature an electric vehicle showcase and opportunities for neighbors to share their experiences with solar energy, geothermal systems, and other eco-friendly initiatives.

Highlights include a native plant giveaway and a free lunch for all attendees.

Rachael Griffith, the county’s Sustainability Director, emphasized the importance of collective action, stating, “Chester County’s Climate Action Plan has a bold goal of cutting 80% of greenhouse gas emissions county-wide by 2050, and to do that, we all need to work together.”

The event is made possible with support from presenting sponsor West Chester University, as well as Gold Level sponsors TerraSol Energies and PECO, among others.

Residents are invited to attend and learn how to support Chester County’s sustainability efforts. To register for the Sustainability Summit & Expo, view exhibitors, and get details, visit https://chescoplanning.org/Events/SustainabilitySummit-2025.cfm.
