ROYERSFORD, PAState Sen. Katie Muth (D-Chester/Montgomery/Berks) has announced that 33 fire and EMS providers in Senate District 44 will receive a total of $625,489 in state funding through the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program. This funding is part of a larger $37 million investment distributed to over 2,500 fire and EMS providers across Pennsylvania, as announced by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.

She also emphasized the importance of increasing program funding in future budget negotiations, adding, “It is my hope that through the upcoming budget hearings and negotiations that discussions again include increasing the amount of funding through this program and the implementation of a sustainable funding source.”

The Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, administered by the Office of State Fire Commissioner, provides critical financial support for facility improvements, equipment purchases, debt reduction, training, recruitment efforts, and public outreach. The program also allows fire companies to establish savings accounts for new facility construction.

This funding aims to reinforce the capabilities of fire and EMS providers while ensuring that communities remain safe and well-served. Looking ahead, discussions on securing sustainable and increased funding could yield even greater benefits for emergency service providers across Pennsylvania.
