PHILADELPHIA, PA — Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard is set to celebrate a significant milestone—its 40th anniversary—on May 4th. In a gesture of gratitude towards its devoted fan base, the brand has unveiled an extensive sweepstakes, offering participants a chance to win a trip to Italy or Iceland, along with the opportunity for 40 lucky winners to enjoy free Rita’s Italian Ice for a year.
Starting today, April 29, and running until May 26, the 40th Birthday Celebration Sweepstakes invites customers from select states to enter weekly for a shot at the grand prize—a vacation package including airfare and accommodations for two to either Italy or Iceland. Additionally, each week, 10 first prize winners will be selected to receive a year’s supply of Rita’s Italian Ice, equating to 52 free small ice rewards loaded onto the winner’s Rita’s Ice app account.
This grand celebration not only highlights Rita’s appreciation for its community’s steadfast support but also spotlights the brand’s extraordinary growth since its inception. Founded in May 1984 by Philadelphia firefighter Bob Tumolo, who incorporated his family’s recipe featuring real fruit, Rita’s has evolved from a single Italian Ice shop in Bensalem, PA, to the world’s largest Italian Ice concept. Now boasting over 550 shops across more than 30 states, Rita’s stands as a testament to the power of quality products and positive customer experiences.
Linda Chadwick, President & CEO of Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard, expressed her excitement about the anniversary and the sweepstakes. She emphasized the role of the Rita’s community in the brand’s ascent to global recognition, attributing its success to the passion and dedication of both fans and franchisees.
Rita’s milestone celebration and sweepstakes reflect not only a significant achievement for the brand but also highlight the importance of customer loyalty and community engagement in the longevity of a business. With four decades under its belt, Rita’s looks to continue its tradition of “Ice, Custard, Happiness,” promising more years of delicious treats and joyful moments for its customers.
