PHILADELPHIA, PA — Yards Brewing Company is marking a significant milestone next month: three decades of brewing excellence in Philadelphia. On November 1st, the brewery will host a special celebration at their Taproom on Spring Garden Street. This event will take beer enthusiasts on a nostalgic journey back to 1994, the year Yards began its brewing adventure.

Founded by college friends Tom Kehoe and Jon Bovit, Yards started as a small garage operation and has become a staple in Philadelphia’s craft beer scene. Known for their commitment to producing quality beer “made by Philadelphia,” Yards has grown to be a beloved brand in the city. Today, their brews are found in virtually every pub, stadium, and bottle shop in Philadelphia.

The anniversary celebration will feature a throwback to 1994 pricing on some of Yards’ iconic beers, including Philadelphia Pale Ale, Brawler, and ESA, available for $3.75 per 20oz pour. The event runs from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM and is free and open to the public.

Attendees will enjoy appearances by Fergus “Fergie” Carey and Tom Peters, two influential figures in Philadelphia’s craft beer community. Together, they will tap a firkin of Extra Special Ale (ESA), Yards’ flagship brew that played a pivotal role in popularizing cask-conditioned beer in the U.S. Guests will have the opportunity to sample this historic beer and purchase it in can six-packs for $12.99, exclusively at the taproom.

The evening will also honor Tom Kehoe for his contributions to Philadelphia’s brewing landscape. With 90s music setting the tone, guests are encouraged to wear vintage Yards gear for a chance to win prizes.
