Windtree Therapeutics Appoints Leanne Kelly to Board, Advances New Growth Strategy

Windtree Therapeutics

WARRINGTON, PA — Windtree Therapeutics, Inc. (NasdaqCM: WINT) has announced the appointment of Leanne Kelly to its board of directors. Kelly, a seasoned financial executive with extensive public company experience, will serve as an independent director and chair the board’s audit committee.

Kelly brings over two decades of leadership in both private and public sectors, spanning life sciences, technology, and e-commerce. She currently serves as Chief Financial Officer at GRI Bio, a position she has held since April 2023. Her past experiences include serving as CFO for Vallon Pharmaceuticals and holding senior financial roles at OptiNose, Flower Orthopedics, Iroko Pharmaceuticals, and Genaera Corporation. A Lehigh University graduate, Kelly holds an undergraduate degree in business economics with an accounting concentration and is a licensed CPA (inactive) in Pennsylvania.

Windtree’s CEO, Jed Latkin, hailed Kelly’s appointment as a crucial addition to the company’s leadership. “We are excited to welcome Leanne to Windtree’s Board of Directors. Her experience will enhance the strength of our Board as we launch our new corporate strategy to become a revenue-generating biotech by using Company equity to acquire small biotech companies struggling to maximize the commercial potential of their FDA-approved products,” he said.

With Kelly’s financial and operational expertise, the company believes it is well-positioned to execute its new strategy, which aims to create shareholder value by unlocking market potential for underutilized FDA-approved assets.

Latkin added, “We look forward to sharing our progress as we execute this strategy.”

With a clear growth roadmap and strengthened board leadership, Windtree is poised to advance its mission of becoming a profitable and influential player in the biotech industry.
