WARRINGTON, PA — Windtree Therapeutics, Inc. (NasdaqCM: WINT) has made significant changes to its board of directors, effective August 13, 2024. The company has appointed Saundra Pelletier and Jed Latkin as new independent directors, bringing extensive public company and executive leadership experience.
Saundra Pelletier joins Windtree with a strong background in biopharmaceuticals. She has been Interim Chair and CEO of Evofem Biosciences, a company focused on women’s health. With over 25 years of leadership experience, Pelletier has driven multiple billion-dollar product launches and expanded organizational capabilities in international markets. She also serves on the board of TRACON Pharmaceuticals, a company developing oncology therapeutics. Pelletier’s expertise in drug development and licensing will be a valuable addition to Windtree’s strategic growth.

During his tenure at Navidea, Latkin raised over $160 million and executed a significant transaction valued up to $310 million. His experience extends to investment banking roles at ING, Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup Securities. Latkin’s financial acumen and biotech industry knowledge will support Windtree’s strategic initiatives.
These appointments follow the resignations of Daniel Geffken and Leslie Williams from the board. Windtree expressed gratitude for their years of service. Additionally, Mark Strobeck, a board member since 2023, has been named Lead Independent Director.
Craig Fraser, Chairman and CEO of Windtree, commented on the board changes: “This is an exciting time for Windtree. We are focused on upcoming Phase 2b clinical trial results and the future development of our cardiovascular lead asset, istaroxime, which is planned to enter Phase 3. With the acquisition of our novel oncology preclinical aPKCi platform, there will be strategic decisions regarding potential deals and partnerships. We believe Saundra and Jed have the specific experience to help us navigate these opportunities and shape our execution.”
