WILMINGTON, DE — Mark your calendars, Wilmington! The city’s cherished holiday tradition, the Jaycees Christmas Parade, is making its grand return to downtown Wilmington on Saturday, November 25. This festive event coincides with Small Business Saturday, making it a double celebration for the community.

Hosted by the Wilmington Jaycees, this will be the 59th year of the annual Christmas Parade. This eagerly awaited event is scheduled to commence at 11:00 a.m., bringing joy, laughter, and holiday cheer to our vibrant city.

Samar Kargbo, President of the Wilmington Jaycees, expressed his excitement, “The Wilmington Jaycees Christmas Parade is a treasured tradition that celebrates our thriving community. It spotlights our local small businesses, uplifts community groups, and showcases the creative spirit of Wilmington.”

The parade promises an array of attractions, including floats, antique cars, local celebrities, community groups, marching and string bands, and other performers. Of course, the highlight of the parade will be none other than Santa Claus himself!

Children attending the parade are invited to pen a letter to Santa and drop it off as Santa passes during the parade. If they include their full mailing address, the Wilmington Jaycees will coordinate with Santa and his elves to try and respond to each letter.

Groups interested in participating in the parade should apply through the Wilmington Jaycees’ website by November 10, 2023.

The Wilmington Jaycees Christmas Parade has a rich history of featuring an impressive lineup of local and national celebrities. Past parades have included Oscar winners, television stars, boxing champions, Olympic gold medalists, and renowned singers.
