WILMINGTON, DE — In a drug bust by the Wilmington Safe Streets Task Force, a 22-year-old woman was arrested on November 8th for possession of a concealed deadly weapon and marijuana. The incident took place around 11:40 a.m., in the 600 block of West 5th Street, where officers observed an illegally parked vehicle.
According to the criminal complaint, upon approaching the vehicle, officers made contact with the driver, identified as Celita Colon. A subsequent investigation led to Colon’s arrest without any incident. During the arrest, police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun and 41.2 grams of marijuana from her possession.
Colon has been charged with multiple offenses including carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and possession of marijuana. These charges are in addition to the traffic violations related to her illegal parking.
Following her arraignment in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, Colon was released after posting an $8,500 secured bail.
