Wilmington Police Seek Public Assistance in 2019 Murder Case

WILMINGTON, DE — The Cold Case Unit of the Wilmington Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance in the unsolved 2019 murder case of Dupree Burroughs.

On July 22, 2019, at approximately 1:33 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1800 block of West 2nd Street following reports of a shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers found Dupree Burroughs and another man with gunshot wounds. Both victims were immediately transported to the hospital, where Burroughs later succumbed to his injuries.

Despite extensive investigations, the case remains open, and detectives are now seeking the public’s help to bring closure to this tragic incident.
