On January 22, police responded to reports of gunfire around 3:11 p.m. in the 300 block of North Scott Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 23-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate transport to the hospital and emergency medical efforts, Swanson succumbed to his injuries.
