Wilmington Police Bust Alleged Drug Dealer with 13.5 Grams of Crack Cocaine

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of a 33-year-old man in connection with a drug investigation.

Dannell Powell has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity and additional releated crimes.

The criminal complaint alleges that beginning in May, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the 1800 block of West 5th Street. On June 14, at approximately 1:59 p.m., police executed a search warrant in that block and took 33-year-old Dannell Powell into custody without incident. Police recovered 13.5 grams of crack cocaine, 1 Alprazolam pill, and drug paraphernalia.

Powell was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $7,400 unsecured bail.
