Wilmington Police Arrest Woman on Drug Charges in East 9th and Kirkwood Streets Area

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a woman who is now facing drug charges following an incident that occurred in the area of East 9th and Kirkwood Streets.

On the morning of January 30, around 10:12 a.m., officers from the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the vicinity when they reportedly observed a female individual involved in suspected drug-related activity. The officers approached 26-year-old Tanazia Curtis, who was subsequently taken into custody without any reported incidents.

Upon arrest, Curtis was allegedly found to be in possession of 1.9 grams of crack cocaine, one Suboxone strip, and one Suboxone pill. She has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver.

Following her arraignment in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, Curtis was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution, where she awaits further proceedings.
