Wilmington Police Arrest Juvenile in Connection with Stolen Vehicle

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile following an alleged vehicle theft and brief chase.

On February 12, at around 2:30 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 1100 block of West 3rd Street when they spotted a stolen vehicle. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it sped away. The vehicle was later found in the 1200 block of West 11th Street. The driver left the vehicle and fled on foot. After a short pursuit, officers apprehended the 17-year-old male without incident.

The juvenile, whose name has not been released due to his age, faces charges including receiving stolen property over $1,500; disregarding a police officer’s signal; and resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
