Wilmington Police Arrest Duo in Connection with Stolen Vehicle Case

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a man and woman and recovered a stolen motor vehicle in an operation that unfolded on the morning of March 3.

Officers from the Uniformed Services Division, while stationed in the 1500 block of Thatcher Street, reportedly spotted the stolen vehicle. They conducted a stop in the 800 block of East 16th Street, leading to the arrest of the driver, 45-year-old Hector Ferrer, and his passenger, 42-year-old Lacola Mumford, without incident.

Ferrer faces charges including receiving stolen property over $1,500 and second-degree conspiracy, in addition to traffic violations. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $4,100 unsecured bail.

Similarly, Mumford has been charged with receiving stolen property over $1,500 and second-degree conspiracy. Post her arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 11, she was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $4,000 unsecured bail.
