WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with the recovery of a stolen motor vehicle.
The incident unfolded on March 2 around 5:08 p.m., when members of the Uniformed Services Division, while patrolling the 3000 block of North Market Street, reportedly spotted a stolen vehicle. Officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop, but the driver allegedly fled the area.
The vehicle was later found in the 2600 block of North Madison Street. The driver reportedly abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. After a brief pursuit, officers apprehended 29-year-old Kevin Stowe without further incident.
Stowe now faces multiple charges in addition to traffic violations. These include receiving stolen property over $1,500 in value, disregarding a police officer’s signal, and criminal mischief causing damage over $1,500.
Following his arraignment in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, Stowe was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, where he awaits further legal proceedings.
As the investigation continues, details are subject to change. It is critical to remember that an arrest does not constitute a declaration of guilt. All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
