WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a local man on multiple charges related to gun possession and drug offenses.
At approximately 12:05 p.m. on February 11, officers from the Uniformed Services Division were called to the 800 block of West 5th Street regarding a report of a person with a firearm. Upon arrival, they encountered 25-year-old Darren Foster. Foster was arrested without incident and found to be in possession of a loaded .45 caliber handgun, as well as quantities of crack cocaine and heroin.
The police have charged Foster with a range of offenses, including three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity, and general possession of a controlled substance.
Following his arraignment in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, Foster was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $72,200 cash-only bail.
As the case moves forward, it’s important to remember that information, a criminal complaint, or an arrest does not constitute a declaration of guilt. Foster, like all suspects, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
