NEW CASTLE, DE — Delaware State Police Governor’s Task Force has arrested a Wilmington man following an extensive drug investigation, leading to charges related to drug distribution and firearm possession.
The operation took place at approximately 6 a.m. on February 9, 2024, when members of the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team and New Castle County Governor’s Task Force executed a search warrant at two residences on the 4000 block of New Castle Avenue. The investigation had identified Brandon Tann, 36, as a key figure in alleged drug distribution activities at these locations.
During the execution of the search warrant, detectives made contact with Tann and reportedly discovered evidence linked to illegal activities. This included over $1000 in suspected drug proceeds, a loaded .25 caliber handgun, a 12-gauge shotgun equipped with a scope, ammunition, approximately 11.6 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. A computer check revealed that Tann is prohibited from possessing firearms.
Tann was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 2. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on an $82,010 cash bond.
The charges against Tann include Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, four counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance Tier 2 Quantity, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
As always, it’s important to remember that these are allegations. Tann, like all individuals facing potential criminal charges, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
