Wilmington Man Arrested in Connection with Burglary Incident

WILMINGTON, DE — A man has been arrested in Wilmington, Delaware, in connection with a burglary incident that took place last month.

On February 16, at approximately 8:18 p.m., police responded to a report of a burglary in the unit block of West 11th Street. The case was assigned to Detective Joran Merced of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through diligent investigation, Detective Merced identified 68-year-old Gaddies McDaniel as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.

Just a week later, on February 23, at roughly 8:41 a.m., members of the Special Operations Division spotted McDaniel in the 900 block of North Orange Street. Officers made contact with McDaniel and took him into custody without incident.

McDaniel now faces charges including third-degree burglary, theft over $1,500, and breach of release. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
