Wilmington Man Arrested in Claymont for Possession of Stolen Vehicle

CLAYMONT, DE — A man from Wilmington, Delaware, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon after being found in possession of a stolen car in Claymont. The Delaware State Police identified the suspect as 35-year-old Reginald Lloyd.

According to the criminal complaint, a state trooper responded to a report of a stolen Nissan Altima in the area of Naamans Road and Ridge Road in Claymont on November 29, 2023, around 3:15 p.m. The officer located the unoccupied white 2017 Nissan with New Jersey registration in a parking lot on the 300 block of Ridge Road.

The trooper observed a man, later identified as Lloyd, exit a store and return to the car. Lloyd was taken into custody without incident. A subsequent computer inquiry confirmed that the Nissan’s registration matched a vehicle reported stolen by the Mantua Police Department in New Jersey.

Lloyd was transported to Troop 1, where he was charged with receiving stolen property, a felony.

Following an arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 2, Lloyd was released after posting bail on a $2,000 secured bond.

The charges mentioned are allegations, and the defendant is considered innocent until and unless proven guilty.
