The ride is a key feature of the Wilmington Grand Prix weekend, an esteemed cycling competition extending from May 17 to May 19.
Celebrating its third year, the Major Taylor Community Ride offers a unique opportunity for participants to explore the very course where elite amateur and professional cyclists will showcase their prowess later the same day. This non-competitive thirty-minute ride emphasizes family involvement and the joy of cycling together. Participants are free to complete as many laps as they like within the allotted time, with professional announcers on site to highlight the achievements of various groups.
Registration for the ride is completely free, though all participants are required to sign a waiver before joining in the fun. The event is proudly sponsored by the Wilmington City Council and New Castle County, reflecting a collective effort to foster community engagement through sports.
