West Reading Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Alleged Shoplifter

WEST READING, PA — The West Reading Police Department is calling for the public’s assistance in identifying an individual suspected of shoplifting from a Penn Avenue business. The alleged incident occurred on December 15, 2023, marking another case in the ongoing battle against retail theft in the area.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to a business on the 600 block of Penn Avenue following a theft complaint. The complainant alleged that a woman had entered the fitting room with several clothing items and exited the store without making a purchase.

The suspect, believed to be in her twenties or thirties, was seen wearing black and white sneakers, black pants, a red and black flannel shirt, and a dark jacket. She has long black hair tied in a ponytail, was wearing earrings, and was seen carrying a white and tan purse at the time of the alleged incident.

The West Reading Police Department has appealed to the community for help in identifying the woman in question.
