BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced substantial construction efforts this coming weekend on U.S. 1 and Rockhill Drive, as part of a $116 million project designed to reconstruct, widen, and enhance a crucial three-mile stretch of U.S. 1 in Bucks County.
Commencing at 8:00 PM on Friday, October 18, and extending through 6:00 AM on Monday, October 21, the ramp connecting southbound U.S. 1 to Rockhill Drive will be temporarily closed to facilitate reconstruction. During this period, motorists will need to utilize a designated detour, which directs them to exit at Street Road and proceed west on Old Lincoln Highway to reach Rockhill Drive.
Simultaneously, a right lane on Rockhill Drive between Old Lincoln Highway and Neshaminy Boulevard will be closed for the duration to allow for necessary ramp paving. This closure aims to ensure the safe and efficient progression of the construction activities.
Travelers in the vicinity of these work zones are urged to plan for additional travel time, as traffic backups and delays are anticipated. The closure aims to expedite the ongoing improvements, which promise to significantly enhance the roadway infrastructure upon completion.
