The date also aligns with Wawa Day, celebrating the 61st anniversary of the first Wawa store opening on April 16, 1964, in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
The Liberty Township store is the first of 8-10 Wawa locations set to launch in Ohio by the end of 2025, showcasing the company’s commitment to local growth. Wawa’s expansion plans extend over the next 5-8 years, involving the construction of up to 60 stores across Ohio, with an annual goal of 6-10 new stores. Once operational, each store employs an average of 35 team members, with Wawa projecting the creation of 2,100 long-term jobs statewide as the expansion progresses.
