Wawa Honors Veterans with Free Coffee and Support Efforts

Wawa

WAWA, PA — Wawa, Inc. is continuing its tradition of honoring veterans and their families by offering free hot coffee on Veterans Day, November 11, 2024. This gesture of gratitude will be available at over 1,000 Wawa stores across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C.

Chris Gheysens, CEO of Wawa, emphasized the company’s commitment to showing appreciation for military service members. “It’s our annual tradition to salute service members on Veterans Day with a hot cup of coffee to thank them for everything they do to serve our communities,” Gheysens stated.

In addition to the free coffee offer, Wawa is sending more than 10,000 care packages through its Operation Taste of Home initiative. This annual tradition, in partnership with the USO of Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey, aims to bring a slice of comfort to deployed service members. These care packages, assembled by Wawa associates, the USO, and members of the Air National Guard and Army National Guard, deliver a taste of home to those serving abroad.

Further supporting military families, The Wawa Foundation has presented a donation of $1,012,305.05 to the USO. This generous contribution was raised through in-store fundraising campaigns over the summer of 2024. The funds will be directed towards programs that support military personnel and their families, reinforcing Wawa’s dedication to community service.

Since 2012, The Wawa Foundation has contributed over $13 million to USO programs, reinforcing its steadfast support for service members. Through these efforts, Wawa not only provides tangible aid but also strengthens the connection between military personnel and their loved ones at home.
