WILMINGTON, DE — The Safe Streets Task Force of Wilmington Police arrested 25-year-old Nyzear Burton on December 15. Burton, who was wanted by the police and did not possess a valid license, was taken into custody following a motor vehicle stop for a traffic infraction in the 1200 block of Northeast Boulevard at approximately 8:45 p.m.
The arrest was carried out without incident, and during the process, police recovered a concealed 9mm handgun and ammunition. Burton was subsequently charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, in addition to facing traffic-related violations.
Following his arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 11, Burton was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution. He is currently being held on an $8,000 cash-only bail.
