Victim Identified in Fatal Crash on Sunset Lake Road

NEWARK, DEDelaware State Police have identified 23-year-old Pablo Limon-Parades of Newark, Delaware, as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday morning on Sunset Lake Road.

The collision took place on March 18, 2025, at approximately 7:15 a.m. Authorities report that a blue 2004 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Sunset Lake Road (SR-72), south of Reybold Road, at an apparent high rate of speed. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch and several trees.

The driver, Limon-Parades, was pronounced dead at the scene. The roadway remained closed for approximately 4.5 hours as members of the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Troopers are asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to contact Master Corporal R. Kunicki at 302-365-8417. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.

Authorities have extended their condolences to the family of the victim as they work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
